“Alison, Everything yesterday was perfect! Thank you so much for all of your hard work =) We could not have asked for anything more wonderful. It was more than we could have dreamed!  Thank you! Ashley and Jeff”

“We could not have found a better place for our wedding.  Maggio’s has a beautiful ballroom and they are affordable. We had a wonderful group of people that made our wedding enjoyable. Bette and Alison definitely know what they are doing. They gave us suggestion and relieved us of any stress because they are professionals. We heard from many people about Maggio’s services and great food…..Brenda and Rafal”

“We just wanted to let you know that you did a GREAT job last night! Everything was perfect. We got compliments all night about how beautiful the ballroom was. Thank you SO MUCH!  Courtney & Luigi”

“We wanted to let you know how pleased we were with our daughter’s wedding reception. The food was delicious and the presentation top-notch.  Adam said to me a couple times that he was “blown away” by how everything turned out. Please thank your staff for a job well done. Donna and Len”

“Our wedding day could not have been possible without the help from Bette and the staff at Maggio’s. I will forever remember my special day as more than perfect…Christina”

” had my wedding at the Maggio’s Ballroom a couple of weeks ago. I am very much a planner and a worry wart. Alison was more then accommodating and answered all of my crazy questions very nicely. My only regret is that I wish I would not have worried so much, the reception was more beautiful than I imagined. The food was amazing, and was presented wonderfully. They made a signature drink for the wedding too, a wedding cake martini, which is soo good. Even my new husband who is a beer drinker, was loving this drink. Everything went perfect! My guests were blown away. I have relatives that live not so close and they were planning (at my wedding, lol) coming back and trying the restaurant. I’m now such a huge fan of this place. Can’t wait to have a date night and visit Maggio’s again!!!!!  Jeanne & Brian”

“My husband and I had our reception at Maggio’s two weeks ago (7/16/2011) and it was beyond our expectations! The staff is flexible and friendly. They were willing to help me with whatever ideas I had for decor and food. I really liked that they helped us personalize the reception hall to be tailored to our choices. They even helped me put ideas together when I got stuck. Maggio’s even worked with our budget, which was extremely helpful. After our wedding many guests told me how much fun they had, raved about the food, and expressed that they were blown away by the elegance of the ballroom! If you are looking for a place to have your reception and desire to have friendly staff who really care about making your reception exactly how you want it and on a budget you can afford….definitely choose Maggio’s…Michelle & Dan”

Summer 2011 Weddings

July 29, 2011

We wanted to share photos of recent summer weddings in the ballroom…enjoy!

On Friday, May 27, after a destination wedding in Jamaica, Michele & Steve celebrated with an intimate group of 50. Guests feasted on a delicious buffet of slow roasted prime rib, chicken francaise, herb encrusted pork tenderloin, farfalle simpatico, oven roasted potatoes, green bean almandine and garden salad.

Michele & Steve love Stock’s Bakery (who doesn’t!), and brought in their own wedding cake.  We set up a huge chocolate fountain, surrounded by strawberries, bananas, pretzel rods, animal crackers, marshmallows and pound cake. Yum!

On June 10, 2011, Diana and Bobby were married at St. Albert the Great in Huntingdon Valley. They then hosted their reception with us in Maggio’s Ballroom. Our tables were covered in beautiful rich colored purple overlays, with lilac napkins. We accented our candle centerpieces with ivory rose petals. Diana and Bobby used Confection Perfection Bakery for their beautiful wedding cake, and Maggio’s set up a lavish sweet table with creme puffs, eclairs, french sticks, fruit danish, chocolate chunk brownies, home baked cookies, petite fours, tiramisu (the bride’s favorite!), and chocolate covered strawberries, hand-dipped by yours truly 🙂

The next night, June 11, Justina and Paul celebrated their wedding with us. An evening reception accented with hundreds of peacock feathers and a specialty drink whipped up by our fabulous bartenders, they danced the night away!!

On Saturday, June 18th, Andrew & Luba’s wedding reception took place at 6:00 pm. Guests chose between; Center cut, Char Grilled Filet Mignon with bearnaise sauce, and Pan Roasted Chicken in a brandy-mustard cream reduction. Both dishes were served with Oven Roasted Red Bliss Potatoes and Green Bean Almandine. Confection Perfection made the wedding cake, and entertainment was provided by Marlin the DJ.

July weddings!

July 16, 2011. Dan & Michelle, a beautiful couple with a love for milkshakes, celebrated their marriage. The room was decorated in chocolate brown and turquoise colors, with chocolate dipped pretzels above each guest’s napkin for favors. The bride made all of the bouquets and boutonnieres. During cocktail hour, our staff butlered scallops wrapped in bacon, beef sliders, and mushrooms stuffed with parmesan and spinach; while a mashed potato bar surrounded by wild mushrooms, crumbled bacon, broccoli spears, aged cheddar cheese, and sour cream with chives allowed guests to eat a heartier appetizer if they chose. The plated luncheon choices were Chicken Francaise and Roast Prime Rib.

For dessert, we prepared vanilla, chocolate, and peanut butter ripple milkshakes and sliced Michelle & Dan’s 4 tier wedding cake. Music and Photography were provided by East Coast Entertainment as we rocked the afternoon away. Beautiful photos are below–thanks East Coast!

On Saturday July 23, at 5:00, Meg & Kevin hosted an evening reception for 130 guests. Our wonderful staff butlered Mushrooms stuffed with crabmeat, Shrimp Bruschetta, Spinach and Cheese in Phyllo, Coconut Chicken with Apricot Dip, Chicken & Vegetable Pot Stickers, and Scallops Wrapped in Bacon. Guests chose between Slow Roasted Prime Rib wtih au jus and horseradish aioli, and Pan Roasted Chicken in a brandy mustard cream reduction. A Lavish Sweet Table and the client’s wedding cake completed the evening.

More photos coming soon! And more weddings, too! Dane and Rachel will be married on Friday, August 4th; Devon & Jim will celebrate their reception on Saturday August 13th, and we have many more happy brides & grooms celebrating fall weddings.

Remember, planning a wedding can be stressful–unless you plan with Maggio’s!!! Call Alison or Bette at 215-364-4983 and let us help you plan your dream reception.

Last night we had the pleasure of serving the Bucks County Orchid Society for the second year in a row. I’ve been looking forward to this event since last year, the entire society is so friendly, and the ballroom always looks beautiful with all those orchids! Last night’s dinner choices were Prime Rib with Fresh Sauteed Vegetables and Potatoes Au Gratin, Herb Encrusted Salmon with Wild Rice Pilaf and Fresh Sauteed Vegetables, and Chicken Piccata with Wild Rice Pilaf and Fresh Sauteed Vegetables.

The Bucks County Orchid Society meets every third Thursday of the month (except in July and August), at the Churchville Nature Center, at 7:00 pm. Here is their website… http://buckscountyorchidsociety.org/index.htm

Showers of Happiness

May 19, 2011

Bridal or baby, we sure host a lot of showers at Maggio’s!! Below are just a few photos from recent showers here in the ballroom…

Below are photos from Heather’s Bridal Shower in March…Pat, Heather’s mom, really out-did herself with all she put into the shower. The room looked beautiful, with a princess theme, and pretty purple linens. We had a great appetizer selection of fresh vegetables, artisan cheeses, spinach dip & roasted red pepper dip. Lunch was Chicken Parmesan with Penne Tomato Vodka, and dessert was the cake and Uncle Sam’s Chocolate Mousse with whipped cream and chocolate chips. We played the Toilet Paper game and Bridal Shower Bingo. I had a great time helping you plan this event Pat!

Also shown below are photos from Julianne’s Baby Shower on Saturday, May 7, 2011…Just last May we celebrated Julianne’s Graduation from Temple University. Paula (Julianne’s mom) planned everything beautifully, matching the linens and flowers, and even the cookie favors to the pretty green invitations. We served a fantastic brunch with an omelet station, breakfast potatoes, bacon, sausage, french toast, waffles, fresh fruit, berries, bagels, croissants, muffins and danish. For dessert, we had vanilla ice cream drizzled with chocolate sauce and cake from “What’s 4 Dessert?” Thank you Paula, for continuing to choose Maggio’s! It is always a pleasure working with you!

As in years past, Maggio’s Ballroom hosted a Seder Dinner for the first two nights of Passover.  As our phones rang for reservations in the last few days beforehand, delicious scents wafted down the hallway from the kitchen. Tomato soup, 1/2 roasted chicken, Sweet Kugel, Garlic Mashed Red Bliss Potatoes and Slow Roasted Prime Rib were just a few of the mouthwatering options on our menu.

As our fabulous staff started to arrive, we lit the candles, poured glasses of water, and put seder plates on the tables. Our first reservation arrived to a quite dining room, decorated in gold linens. As the evening went on, I had the opportunity to talk to many guests, most of whom I knew from years past. We received many compliments on the food, our staff, and the ballroom.

Thank you so much to everyone who was a guest this year at Passover dinner! We hope to see you all again soon!!

Hello All!!

We have been busy busy busy here at Maggio’s! Thought I would post some photos from recent events for everyone to enjoy…

On April 10, 2011 we helped celebrate Allison’s Bridal Shower in the Ballroom. Shelley, Allison’s mother, had been planning this event for the past year, and we were all excited for her special day to arrive. The ballroom was decorated beautifully in Allison and Steve’s wedding colors of orange, pink, and yellow.

Allison arrived at about 1:30 pm and was very surprised as she entered the room, thinking she was attending an anniversary party for her aunt and uncle. She happily greeted her friends and family.

Maggio’s staff then served lunch, a plated meal with the guests’ choice of either Chicken Parmesan served with Penne Marinara, or our Triple Layer Oven Baked Lasagna. Dessert was Chocolate Mousse with Whipped Cream and Chocolate Chips, and a cake from Confection Perfection in Richboro.

Best wishes to Allison & Steve, and thank you Shelly for choosing Maggio’s!

So, as promised, here are some photos from Nicole & Dominick’s wedding on Saturday, May 1st. I should have more shortly 🙂

I love love love the uplighting!
